LISTEN: Daisy Duke Craft Ethereal Alt-country With Poetic Visions On “It’s All Good”

Daisy Duke is a fresh name on the Danish country-rock scene. Musically, the band navigates a space between country and alternative rock, drawing inspiration from artists such as The War on Drugs, Wilco, The Beatles, and Tom Waits. The result is a sound that feels both familiar and new. The band’s new EP, The Boy Inside, is set to be released on October 9.

“It’s All Good” is our first preview of Daisy Duke’s upcoming release, and it might just be the ethereal, cathartic, twangy mental walk you need on a busy day. The band’s latest single floats down in front of you like a feather falling off a soaring bird above, gently landing in front of you with natural beauty and otherworldly grace. The dream-like atmosphere of “It’s All Good” introduces the sonic alterations Daisy Duke is looking to make to modern country tropes, removing the rust and polishing off the raw emotions. At the same time, the sonics evoke a feeling of levitation, and the band attempts to anchor you down to reality with poetic songwriting. The urge for genuine human connection in an age where technology is becoming increasingly unavoidable, encouraging listeners to forge new relationships in the era of distance. With a new project right around the corner, Daisy Duke looks to inch their way into a burgeoning country scene in the most authentic way possible with “It’s All Good.”

“‘It’s All Good’ is about taking our conversations and time with others to a deeper level. Many of us tend to skim past the hard things in life when we talk to each other. Maybe it’s because that’s the easiest way? Maybe we’re afraid of making others uncomfortable? Or maybe it’s because we don’t feel our innermost thoughts deserve to be shared with the world,” explains the band when asked about their new single. “We’re all great at talking about the weather, but could we get better at daring to talk about the things that truly make us happy or sad—the things that shape who we are and really matter in our lives? This song makes a case for turning small talk into big talk.”
