The Krickets are a trio from the Gulf Coast whose music is genre-bending Americana steeped in their signature folk harmony. Fresh out of the studio with Single Lock Records’ Austin Motlow, they just completed their third full-length studio album If You Only Knew, due for release in November 2025.
While all have solo projects, the three singer-songwriters who make up the Krickets include Emily Stuckey Sellers, Lauren Spring, and Rachel Grubb. Originally coming together to play a breast cancer benefit, the band is passionate about supporting their namesake, TheCricketFund.org, which provides cancer aid to the uninsured.
The Krickets’ third full-length album includes 10 tracks, all love songs, but each written for a different type of love. For these love-centered songs, the trio draws from their lived experience. Delivered with emotional depth and beautiful harmonies, this collection of songs offers a poignant reflection on the complexity and nuance of love, especially for those fortunate enough to have experienced it in its many forms over time.
For this album, The Krickets returned to Florence, Alabama, and Sun Drop Sound, which is owned by Single Lock Records, where they recorded their debut album Spanish Moss Sirens in 2016. If You Only Knew is produced by Austin Motlow and reunited the band with their Spanish Moss Sirens producer, Ben Tanner(Alabama Shakes), who contributed keys to a few tracks. The album also features guests Sol Littlefield and Single Lock artist Caleb Elliott.
Today, Glide is excited to offer an exclusive premiere of the album’s title track, “If You Only Knew,” which is an enchanting work of soulful Americana brimming with rich harmonies and poignant lyricism. Backed by big, airy guitars plus a healthy dose of slide and a steady beat, the group lays down powerful three-part harmonies that showcase their vocal prowess and the emotion they are capable of stirring up with their simple yet moving lyrics. With its epic bridge and finale loaded with strings, guitars, and synths, this is the kind of song that practically begs to be experienced live to truly take in its emotional impact and resonance.
“If you’ve ever known the bone-deep ache of falling for someone you can’t have or are too afraid to tell, then you’ll feel this one,” shares Lauren Spring, one of the three songwriters in The Krickets. “We FALL into this song every time we sing it. There’s this thing that harmony singers can sometimes find that is pure euphoria and the bridge on this song is one of those moments on the album for me.”
