The second Record Store Day of 2025 is set for Black Friday, November 28, and we have quite the list of exclusive releases to sift through. While RSD Black Friday isn’t typically as packed as the one in Spring, there is something in the air this time around. Bad Brains – Live at the Bayou: Washington D.C. July 14, 1980 / March 15, 1981

Before, the name Bad Brains was synonymous with punk rock and the explosive, timeless scene that rose from Washington D.C.; the iconic band was cutting its teeth in the city’s live circuit. Some of those early live performances, even before Bad Brains’ classic debut from 1982, are now being cemented on wax with the release of Live at the Bayou: Washington D.C. July 14, 1980 / March 15, 1981, this Record Store Day. These previously unreleased recordings will be pressed on limited-edition 180g vinyl.
Miles Davis – Live at the Plugged Nickel: December 23, 1965 – Second Set

One of the most iconic jazz musicians of all time continues to reach new generations as one of his most beloved ensembles receives a legendary release. Live at the Plugged Nickel features Davis, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams during an electrifying string of improved performances from 1965. This issue will be pressed on double black vinyl and feature familiar favorites from Davis.

One of the most underrated Hip-hop albums of its era is receiving a proper deluxe edition for this Record Store Day. Little Brother’s The Minstrel Show introduced the trio as daring additions to a burgeoning scene, as they pieced together a rewarding concept album that still sounds fresh 20 years after its initial release. This RSD exclusive will be remastered for vinyl, featuring unseen photo inserts and two songs not included on previous pressings.
Rahsaan Roland Kirk – Vibrations In The Village: Live At The Village Gate

In 1963, a documentary was being made on multi-instrumentalist and jazz virtuoso Rahsaan Roland Kirk. For the documentary, an electrifying performance was recorded with a full backing band at the legendary Village Gate in New York City. Unfortunately, the director of the documentary passed before its completion, leaving these live recordings hidden for 62 years, until this upcoming Record Store Day. Vibrations In The Village: Live At The Village Gate is a previously unheard Kirk performance that will finally be released across two LPs, along with rare inserts for this RSD pressing.
Prince & The Revolution – Around The World in a Day

Maybe it’s because it came so close to his opus, Purple Rain, or perhaps it’s the experimental nature of the record. Still, the sophomore record from Prince & The Revolution is a hidden highlight in the midst of Prince’s prolific career. The psychedelic adventure that is Around the World in a Day is turning 40, and we’re receiving a box set of 7-inch singles, each one a unique color wax. The release will feature singles from the album, like “Raspberry Beret” and “Paisley Park,” and an exclusive pressing of “4 The Tears in Your Eyes,” which Prince originally recorded for the We Are The World album.
Ramones – Live at CBGB, 1977

The trailblazing punk rockers Ramones have always been closely associated with the legendary New York City venue CBGB, and that beautiful relationship is now being pressed on fresh wax. Live at CBGB, 1977 will be released on vinyl for the first time this RSD, and features performances of hits like “Blitzkrieg Bop” and “Sheena Is a Punk Rocker.”

Nico – Live in Reims Cathedral, 1974

One of the most iconic performances in rock history, the moment when The Vatican rethought their decision to allow rock performances in their cathedrals, is getting a fresh pressing this Black Friday. Nico opened for Tangerine Dream on that unforgettable night in 1974, and that performance is getting cemented on vibrant magenta wax. Along with being remastered, Live in Reims Cathedral, 1974, will include an obi-stripe and inserts featuring all-new album artwork from the original recording.
Wilco/Jeff Tweedy/Daniel Johnston – dBpm 15

This compilation from Wilco’s dBpm records is brimming with rare treats and previously unreleased material from Wilco, Jeff Tweedy, and Daniel Johnston. dBpm 15 features Wilco’s cover of The Beatles’ “Don’t Let Me Down,” a previously unreleased duet between Tweedy and Johnston, along with some Wilco and Tweedy tunes that have not been pressed on wax yet. This pressing will be done on red vinyl exclusively for RSD.
Bobby Womack – Live in London

Being pressed on vinyl for the first time since its original release, this Bobby Womack performance beautifully captures the soulful funk that defined Womack’s career. Live in London was recorded in 1991 and will be pressed on double-colored vinyl and slipped into a sleek gatefold sleeve.
The Dead Milkmen – Big Lizard in My Backyard (40th Anniversary)

Philadelphia’s beloved punk hooligans, The Dead Milkmen, are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their timeless debut with a proper reissue. Big Lizard in My Backyard will be pressed on green vinyl and will feature 10 alternate takes of album classics. The pressing will also feature plenty of goodies, including updated artworks and posters, all housed in a gatefold sleeve.
Karly Hartzman & MJ Lenderman – Karly Hartzman and MJ Lenderman – Live at Third Man Records
Taken from an intimate performance during 2024’s AMERICANAFEST in Nashville, Tennessee, the founders of indie rock genre-pushers Wednesday ran through classics at Third Man Records, and now that performance will be cemented on hard wax. Karly Hartzman and MJ Lenderman – Live at Third Man Records was recorded straight to acetate in TMR’s iconic Blue Room and will be pressed, rightfully so, on blue wax. This pressing is limited to 2,000 copies at select record stores.

Most music fans have the story of the first time they heard Bob Dylan’s The Free Wheelin’ Bob Dylan, but now new and old fans get to experience the album in an entirely new light. The Original Free Wheelin’ Bob Dylan will feature the original, never-before-seen liner notes and include four songs that were removed from the original album before its original release, including “Rocks and Gravel” and “Let Me Die In My Footsteps.”
