redveil – “save”
sankofa
For the first time since 2022, we have a new LP from thought-provoking and wildly wise redveil. The artist’s latest LP, sankofa, is an urgently soulful, 12-song LP that continues to build an undeniable discography, as the artist rips open his soul and unleashes a universe of heavy emotions over jazzy undertones. The vulnerable “save” features soaring backing vocals that juxtapose the rugged longing that drives redveil’s vocals.
Lettuce – “Cook”
Cook
Funk-fusion masterminds and veterans of the genre, Lettuce, emerge with a chrome-laden new album that continues to prove their well-established prowess. Cook is 16 mind-bending slices of funky bliss that groove to the beat of Lettuce’s seasoned drum, creating an almost psychedelic feeling as you journey through warping melodies and blaring brass sections. The title track sounds like the soundtrack to a low-budget car chase, as quick tempos meet relaxing and dreamy melodies to create a danceable anthem.
THE DOOMSTOMPERS – “Undertow”
Single
New York City’s THE DOOMSTOMPERS are the latest signing to Bad Time Records, and they are celebrating in the only appropriate way: with some impressive, refreshing ska. “Undetow” marks the first release from DOOMSTOMPERS with their new home, and the shiny, punchy outing is a stunning introduction to this band. The DOOMSTOMPERS’ Bad Time Records debut is set for 2026.

What starts as a gentle snowfall quickly explodes into a torrential downpour, as the band builds towards a dramatic swell that bursts with frantic distortion.
Ratboys – “What’s Right?”
Singin’ to an Empty Chair
We are all anticipating the new album from Ratboys, and if the first two singles weren’t enough, the band drops off a third single this week. “What’s Right?” is a toe-tapping indie rock tune with warm textures that hide the harsh realizations explored in the lyrics. The new single is from Singin’ to an Empty Chair, which is set to be released via New West Records on February 6.
The Damned – “See Emily Play”
Not Like Everybody Else
Legendary punk innovators The Damned are gearing up to release a covers album next year, and the new single should have everyone excited about the upcoming release. The band’s take on Pink Floyd’s “See Emily Play” is a nuanced take on a classic that whirls around the room, creating dancing hallucinations for the listener to dance with. Not Like Everybody Else is set to be released on January 23.
The Olympians – “Honey Bea”
In Search of a Revival
Instrumental powerhouse, The Olympians, is set to make their triumphant return in 2026 with the release of In Search of a Revival, their first album in a decade. While we all anxiously await the February 13 release date, the band releases the second single, “Honey Bea.” The undeniably beautiful outing is a sweeping performance that grabs the listener by the shoulders and reminds them to slow down and appreciate the intricacies of their surroundings.
Lambchop – “Afterburner”
Passages: Artists In Solidarity with Immigrants, Refugees, and Asylum Seekers
Over the past few weeks, Western Vinyl Records has been releasing singles from some incredible musicians for Passages: Artists In Solidarity with Immigrants, Refugees, and Asylum Seekers. The compilation album will support American Gateways and Casa Marianella and feature songs from Benjamin Booker, Lonnie Holley, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, and many more. One of the latest singles, the nimble, acoustic Lambchop cut “Afterburner,” is a poetic listening experience that washes over the listener with grace and care.
Ty Segall & The Muggers – “Candy Sam (Live)”
“Live” “At” “The” “BBC” – EP
Ty Seegall is reaching deep into his colorful career for this latest release, a decade to be exact. In 2016, Ty Segall was on a massive tour, backed by The Muggers, and their BBC sessions are getting a proper release. “Live” “At” “The” “BBC” is a 5-song live EP set for release on January 30, and the searing “Candy Sam (Live)” is our first single. The firework-esque performance features a nostalgic punk feel, emphasized by blazing guitar solos and chanting melodies.
Water From Your Eyes – “Driving Classics, Playing Cars”
It’s Beautiful – EP
After wowing critics and living up to immense hype with the release of their LP, It’s a Beautiful Place, the duo Water From Your Eyes is celebrating a prosperous 2025 with a quick EP. It’s Beautiful features three reimagined versions of fan-favorite cuts from It’s a Beautiful Place, including a chaotic extended cut of “Playing Classics.” “Driving Classics, Playing Cars” nearly doubles the original runtime and adds surprising shifts in tone and tempo throughout.
Guns N’ Roses – “Nothin’”
Single
Guns N’ Roses continue to enjoy their well-earned longevity with two new singles that prove the band is far from finished with their legacy. Along with the rock ballad “Atlas,” the band released “Nothin’,” a more quaint type of stadium rock. The ever-evolving single starts with colorful keys that inevitably lead into nostalgic crescendos that bleed into emotional guitar solos.
Tyler Ramsey & Carl Broemel – “In the Willows”
Celestun
Singer/songwriter Tyler Ramsey is gearing up for the release of Celestun, his new 9-song LP, on January 15. Along with the previously released singles, the album is now supported by an instrumental collaboration with My Morning Jacket’s Carl Broemel called “In the Willows.” The latest preview of Celestun is a moving acoustic number with ambient undertones that play with twinkling guitar melodies in a jovial yet mature fashion.
Flea – “A Plea”
Single
We rarely see the renowned bassist of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flea, step into the solo spotlight, but he’s back with an urgent new single. “A Plea” is an eight-minute statement piece featuring liberating, experimental jazz that quickly transitions into an ode to peace and understanding. Flea’s confusion with the world around manifests across a jazzy, spoken-word piece that asks us to “Live for peace, live for love.”
