Fcukers by Jeton Bakalli

Today on the Tube, independent record labels dominate every channel. Ninja Tune bring us Fcukers, Jazz Is Dead offer up another in their amazing JID series, and up-and-comer TWNSHP team with Guapdad 4000.

Fcukers – ‘L.U.C.K.Y’ (Official Video)

Independent, London-based record label Ninja Tune strikes again with another hit, this time in the form of Fcukers upcoming album, titled Ö. Produced entirely by Kenneth Blume (FKA Kenny Beats) with some additional production courtesy of Dylan Brady (celebrated as one half of 100 Gecs), Ö is sure to be heard in a club near you in no time. Leading up to the March 27th release date, the duo has released three singles, the most recent of which is “L.U.C.K.Y”, an energizing, synth-heavy song with a driving beat. Fortunately for us, this track comes with a music video — dark and intimate, interspersed with the strobing of lights and life. We’re transported to the dancefloor of a silent disco, complete with the personal privacy of a good pair of headphones while surrounded by the social stimulation of ravers romping freely. Tune in to be perfectly prepared for the prancing that is sure to follow the album’s full release.

Inside the Studio: Antonio Carlos & Jocafi Live Recording with Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed

Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad (of A Tribe Called Quest renown) are set to deliver the 26th (!) installment of their Jazz Is Dead (JID) series in April, enlisting established jazz heavyweights Antonio Carlos and Jocafi for the endeavor. Mostly known for their work as a duo released throughout the 1970s and ‘80s, Antonio Carlos and Jocafi are fitting additions to the heap of old-school Brazilian musicians recruited for the JID collection. In preparation for the release of the full album, JID has released the single “Rala-Bucho” and provided us with a lively look at the recording session, featuring a plethora of personnel, including more than a few backup vocalists delivering soaring vocals. Adrian Younge himself can be seen getting busy on the bass while the other musicians wear ear-to-ear grins — bright eyes shining and heads vigorously nodding. If this behind-the-scenes look is any indication, the 26th chapter in the Jazz is Dead canon will certainly live up to the previous 25.

Champagne Showers | Guapdad 4000 | Official Music Video

Guapdad 4000 overflows with charisma as he stars in the visually satisfying, food-oriented music video for his new single “Champagne Showers”. Utilizing an anonymous Black-owned restaurant in Hollywood as the setting, Guapdad 4000 showcases delectable dishes alongside a deliciously catchy hook and spits two verses as hot as the stove top. This festive and humorously boastful track will undoubtedly be leaving fans hungry for more inspiring and celebratory music from Guapdad.
