Surfing The Tube: Courtney Barnett Links With Waxahatchee; Matisyahu Beats Nyabinghi Rhythm; Homeboy Sandman Doesn’t “Need a Woman”

Courtney Barnett – “Site Unseen” (Official Visualizer)

Courtney Barnett teams with Waxahatchee for the guitar-driven second single off her upcoming album Creature of Habit. Complete with a music video, “Site Unseen” finds the pairing visually in a fun-loving and comical mood, set over upbeat instrumentation yet gloomy lyrics.

Matisyahu – Rastaman Chant → Close My Eyes (Nyabinghi Rhythm)

Matisyahu invites us inside his home and inside his heart for a touching presentation of the Rastafarian Nyabinghi rhythm which he plays in the traditional style: drumming accompanied by chanting verses from Hebrew scripture. Intimate and uplifting, Matisyahu shows off his pipes, rapping, and beatboxing — eventually setting the drums aside to focus on his pious vocals through live looping and layering.

Homeboy Sandman – Need a Woman

In anticipation of his upcoming April tour of North America, Homeboy Sandman blesses fans with a humorous animated video for the cut “Need a Woman” from last year’s superb double album compilation Rich 2.5. Illustrated and animated by Señor Gigio and produced by frequent collaborator Mono En Stereo, Boy Sand and his team strike spiritual gold yet again.

Atmosphere – Zorro (feat. ZooDeVille) [Official Video]

Atmosphere joins forces with ZooDeVille (who not only features on, but also shoots and edits this audio-visual affair) for a music video from album closing track “Zorro” off of 2025’s Jestures. The timely and wintry video comes on the heels of the January 15th release of the instrumental version of the album, courtesy of Atmosphere’s longtime label Rhymesayers Entertainment.
