“Sticking” with our tribute to the late great Ian Dury this week, for today’s Tuesday’s gone, we are spotlighting this classic performance of one his trademarked jams, the fantastically funky: “Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick”. Indeed, as mentioned on yesterday’s Manic Monday, Dury was a master wordsmith who often enjoyed including playfully suggestive double-entendres in his music, of which “Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick” is a pretty good example. Whatever your interpretation, it’s an undeniably fun and delightfully groovy little ditty, so turn it up and enjoy this classic performance:
