Rounding out our salute to subversive sensuality this week, for today’s Weirdo Wednesday, we’ve dug up this performance of The Ramones offering their take on a love song with “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend” live in 1980 Seeing a skinny and awkward Joey Ramone play the part of the predator might be awkward and weird in itself, but in the scheme of rock history, this tune certainly went down as one of The Ramones’ finest songs – it’s basically a ’60s pop love song played at punk speed.
