MEMORIALS, Electrelane frontwoman Verity Susman and Wire guitarist Matthew Simms, are excited to announce North American tour dates with Holy F*ck in support of their new album All Clouds Bring Not Rain, out March 27 on Fire Records. Sounding like an unearthed lost classic, MEMORIALS twist their influences into their own unmistakable sound. Imagine Nico singing with Can, produced by David Axelrod, and you’re somewhere in the right ballpark. The record draws inspiration from a wide range of music, including folk, dub, post punk, experimental tape music, 60s soul, garage rock, 70s spiritual jazz, and Canterbury prog.
We are just over a week away from the anticipated release of the new MEMORIALS LP, and the latest single only adds more fuel to that fire. “Dropped Down The Well” is the fourth single from the upcoming release and offers a lively look into the band’s colorful creativity. MEMORIALS pieced together a synth-drenched, pulsating, dark anthem primed for haunting dance parties and dimly-lit rooms. There is a sonic conflict at play between the haunting tones and danceability of this record, a battle between up-tempo swings and the eerie vocals. The juxtaposing elements duel to create a cacophony of influences whittled down into something MEMORIALS can call their own. All Clouds Bring Not Rain is gearing up to be a landmark release for this band, and “Dropped Down The Well” is just a slice of the magic promised on this new LP.
