This House is Creaking is not only a terrifically imaginative band name, but it is also an apt description of the band’s current place in their artistic journey. The shoegaze-tinted indie rock duo, consisting of Micah Miller and Ehmed Nauman, has been crafting infectious, fun yet eerie experimental rock that borrows from electro-rock as much as from their ’90s heroes for only a few years now. With each release, the sound of bending wood becomes louder and more detailed, indicating that the band is slowly rising in the ranks of modern rock with albums like their self-titled debut in 2024, and 2025’s I Want To Feel at Home Here.
It is releases like these that put THiC on tour with the likes of Hotline TNT and Water From Your Eyes, yet another step up the winding stairs towards indie success. The duo aims to maintain their forward movement with their latest single, “2 LAMP (lava lamp),” which Glide is proud to premiere today. The latest single in what has been a prolific release schedule for THiC in 2025 finds the band continuing to stretch the limits of their artistry, with lush, shoegaze-tinted vocals colliding with streaks of electronic blips and crunchy guitar textures.
“The first song we wrote after moving from our old apartment, where our first two records were written and recorded,” explains THiC when asked about their latest release. “An extremely cathartic song about cleansing yourself of old habits, relationships, mental blockades, whatever it may be, and starting fresh while letting those experiences inform your future self. Sometimes you just have to stare into a lava lamp.”
“Fresh” is the exact word that comes to mind when listening to THiC’s new single. The way the distorted bliss comes to punchy closes during the verses sends the listener down a tunnel of light illuminated by the intricacies and raw passion of the band. The duo established a singular sound long ago and continues to evolve with every new release, making their road to inevitable indie stardom all the more exciting to be a part of.
