Tuesday’s Gone: Watch KISS Make National TV Debut in 1974

Continuing our tribute to the late great Ace Frehley, who passed away last week, for today’s Tuesday’s Gone, we’re throwing it all the way back to KISS’ very first live performance on national television. The date was March 29, 1974, to be exact, and the band had only just released their self-titled debut album the prior month, so for the vast majority of people tuning into ABC’s In Concert program that evening, it was their first time hearing or seeing KISS. Indeed, KISS have been icons for so long, it’s a little hard to imagine a time when they weren’t a household name, but suffice to say, after this performance, they were well on their way. Dig it:
