Manic Monday – Hard Working Americans & Todd Snider Get Bluesy & Loud On “Straight to Hell” Live

Given the stunning news of Todd Snider’s untimely passing last week, we’ll be dedicating this week to him by showcasing some classic performances from the alt-country vet’s esteemed career. And while most fans of the genre are no doubt quite familiar with his impressive output over the years, today we’re shining a light on his short-lived supergroup Hard Working Americans, who made some waves on the jam-band circuit about a decade ago when they released their self-titled debut of covers back in 2014.  Consisting of bassist Dave Schools from Widespread Panic, Neal Casal of Chris Robinson Brotherhood on guitar and vocals (R.I.P.), Chad Staehly of Great American Taxi on keyboards, Duane Trucks on drums, and of course the late Todd Snider on vocals, this earnest performance of “Straight to Hell” (written by Kevin Kinney) captures the band in all their bluesy glory:
