Continuing our tribute to the late great Todd Snider, for today’s Tuesday’s Gone, we’re throwing it all the way back to his debut album Songs for the Daily Planet from 1994 with this classic video for “Alright Guy”. One of his most accessible songs, this video finds a baby-faced Snider in pure mid-90s alt-rock mode, with delightfully affable results. Not only did the video and the song help Snider gain some traction with the MTV crowd at the time, but it also contributed to the success of the album as a whole, peaking at #23 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart that same year. A more than “alright” song from a more than “Alight Guy”, this is an essential one in the Snider cannon. Dig it:
