Big Sleep is a Dublin-based indie-alternative band who has spent the last two years playing to packed-out rooms to an ever-growing fanbase, until lockdown came along. The 4-piece formed when frontman Rónán entered a Battle of the Bands as a singer-songwriter. He reconnected with some old bandmates and was introduced to some new ones to form the current lineup: Matteo Poli on percussion, Evin O’Connor on lead guitar, Róná Connolly on vocals and rhythm guitar, and Dougie Sealy on bass.

“Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo” is the latest single from Big Sleep, and the sleek grooves are sure to stick to the sides of your soul for days to come. The infectious, neon-lined anthem glistens with pop tendencies that straddle tradition and futurism, while chrome-laden bass lines add an intricate bounce to the performance. Upon first listen, “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo” is a nod to pop-rock’s rich history, as Big Sleep maintains a simplicity that could still fill a stadium. However, the band’s new single is far from an amalgamation of influences and tropes. The band’s individuality shines in the way the vocals dynamically shift before your very eyes, and the sparkling textures created when the guitars slide into otherworldly riffs. Big Sleep cements a sound they can call their own on their danceable new single, ushering in an exciting new chapter for the band.
