Happy 75th Birthday Phil Collins

Happy 75th birthday to Phil Collins, born January 30, 1951. From his roots as a prog-rock drummer to becoming the lead singer of Genesis during their hit-making years—and then launching a massive solo career—Collins has had one of the most remarkable runs in modern music.

He’s among the best-selling artists of all time, with 33.5 million RIAA-certified albums sold in the U.S. and an estimated 150 million worldwide. Alongside Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson, he’s one of only three artists to sell over 100 million albums both as a solo act and as a principal member of a band.

After years out of the spotlight, Collins reemerged a few years back for a final Genesis tour, and recent reports say he has a tough case of the health blues and needs constant care. Let’s hope we haven’t heard the last of Phil. In honor of Phil lets watch this smokin’ version of “Abacab” from Genesis Live at Wembley 1987.
